He cites relevant examples from real-world coaching in business, sports, and the military. He interviewed high achievers from many walks of life to add interesting insights. In short, Cross has written a book that every leader who is trying to drive continuous improvement in his/her business should read to help develop a coaching blueprint for their organization.
I have spent my 30+ year career in business as a change agent. My effectiveness has come from studying innovation in one industry and adapting it to a new one. I've had maybe three completely original useful ideas in my career. Mr. Cross' book has opened my eyes to the idea that through carefully implemented coaching programs, original ideas can come from a process with at least somewhat predictable results. Wow. Must read.
